Stefano Amerighi’s Azienda Agricola was born out of a long cherished wish to produce a great Syrah with the tradition of the family, passion and using biodynamic principles. To achieve this, Stefano has chosen two hills on the family estate, which have a south-west orientation. Geological and climatic research indicated that this was the perfect piece of land to plant the Syrah vines. The work in the vineyard is controlled by the position of the moon and the planets. All this to ensure healthy and ripe grapes.

The grapes are picked by hand and stripped of their stems, partly left whole, partially bruised with feet and placed by hand in small cement tubs. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with its own yeasts without temperature control. After fermentation, the wine matures for about 14 months, partly on wood and partly on cement. Then the wine is bottled without filtering and stabilization.

The wine has a deep, full of red colour, tending to black. On the nose black currants and cherries, concentration and dosed power, incredibly complex with notes of chocolate and a sultry, endless length.

Outspoken Wines has vintages from 2011 and up in stock. Available at, among others, our retail partner Bâtard Vintrepreneurs Amsterdam.
